My name is Douglas Kraemer. My wife and I live in a small town in southeast Pennsylvania. Although we only have about half an acre of land, we’ve seen more than 28 different types of birds in our yard over the past year or so. Which is pretty good when you consider that Bessie, our long-haired miniature Dachshund, likes to bark at them all and scare them away :)

This blog will attempt to document our bird sightings with photographs and descriptions of the many and varied visitors to our backyard (and from our birding travels, too!). You might even see the occasional video if the birds are kind enough to cooperate. Please enjoy and know that comments and feedback are always welcome!
